I have a question for y'all. My hubby starts basic trainin in a few months. Does he get paid for that? About how much? Also do they really pay your rent? Hubby and I were talkin and he forgot to ask.

Yes they'll pay him for basic. How much depends on his rank. No they won't pay your rent. It's just like any other job you get your check and then you pay your bills.

Goodness OP did either of you actually take the time to know anything about the military before he signed on the dotted line?!?!

He will get BAH and base pay.

He will not get BAS during basic and AIT.

Herhttp://militarybenefits.info/2014-military-pay-charts/e is the pay chart. He will come in as an E1, maybe an E2/E3.

It's called BAH. Basic Allowance for Housing.

They don't pay your rent. They give you a set BAH rate. You pay your rent.

She didn't specify if he was active or reservist.

It doesn't matter he will get BAH while in basic, it is considered active duty.
