It's 930 at night on a Saturday and a Tenant knocked on my door...

She has all three of her children with her.

Her husband was sitting in the car.

She hands me an envelope - with 800 dollars in cash and asks for a receipt.

I take it and print her out one as they wait.

She reads it and says "This don't say nothing about not being evicted"

I said that's right. It's already been filed, that's why you were served on Wednesday. However this will bring you closer to the amount you need to pay off [stated amount]

She starts yelling, with her kids. Saying how she didn't get nothing Wednesday. I pointed out she had to sign for it with the process server, I have a receipt and so do the courts.

She keeps screaming about how we are going to kick her and her kids out and the kids are crying...

I said "bring your rent current and proceedings can be stopped".

I reminded her of our business office hours and while I accepted it this time, I will no longer welcome them to my home.

I went back in and closed my door.

They sat out in my drive for about another 10 mins.

I think I need to get a RO so they won't continue to come to my residence.

You going to take them in? You'd put up with no payment and people screaming at you?

What a saint you are.

Lol, how did she know about it if she didn't get anything? People can be so stupid. I'd ask if it was my ex, because that's something he would do, and think it would work, but you said a woman.

I am not smug at all. However I do not run a charity. I have mortgages to pay on my properties.

When something in my rentals break, I have to pay for it.

I have to pay for trash pick up

I have to pay for landscaping.

When they don't pay their rent - I still have all that money going out.

I am not a charity.

In the long run it will be better to just get them
out.

She has bills to pay! It's a business not a charity!

Sorry my mind is running faster than my fingers.

She claims she got it in the mail today. Which simply is not the case.

The eviction was served via a court paid process server.
