Especially when some women have doctors telling them not to quit cold turkey.

Slippery slope. Many people also think you shouldn't touch caffeine, fish, or a plethora of other foods during pregnancy. Do you want to be fined for that too? Or for, say, eating in the car while your kids are with you? Adjusting the radio? Those things distract you from the road. You could crash and kill your kids.

laws were NOT passed for those other things you mentioned....laws WERE passed about smoking in the car with kids

Lol where I live they passed laws about eating in the car.

Distracted driving is an often given ticket around here.
