Divorced moms...

Would you care if your ex husband was marrying a woman of another race (assuming you have kids together)?I met my fiance's ex wife for the first time last weekend and ever since she's been bitching at him about how much more difficult their kids' lives are going to be having a step-mom and step-siblings of a different race and blah blah. Just wondering if this is a legitimate concern and why?

No, it's not a legitimate concern. She's apparently a bitch; don't let her get to you.

She's supposedly concerned with how their town(very small, rural area) will treat her kids. I live about 45 mins away in a more diverse city (where he works and will move as well). They have joint custody as of now, but since the kids are all in school they'll be with her majority of the time once DF moves here.

I don't think I'd care at all. Sounds like she's just nit picking.

I had the same concerns when my ex started dating a black woman.

I love her, she's one of my best friends. We started hanging out together immediately when they started dating and we just clicked.. but our kids went through HELL. Her kids and my kids.

The kids at school were cruel. The kids in the neighbourhod were cruel. Even adults they'd run into would say things under their breath but loud enough for the kids to hear.

It's been 3 years and the kids are still dealing with it. As much as I like her, I wish he was with a white woman just so our kids could be spared.
