What are your thoughts?

1. I am atheist. No I am not picketing our school or complaining to the school board.

2. It doesn't bother me if kids wish to tote around more books. I don't give a hoot if kids pray, read their bible, whatever during school hours.

3. Religion has no place in PUBLIC school. Faith is a personal choice and your beliefs shouldn't be forced onto others.

4. Our children choose their own path in life. Gay, Muslim, Catholic, transgender, etc. we will love and support them every step of the way.

5. I went back and read the flyer. It does not say "national bring your bible to school day" It states "bring your bible to school day"
The people posting/sharing the flyer refered to it as I did in my post.

No.  Just no.

You do realize that a good portion of the country does not have a bible, nor are they Christian, right?

Stupid and inappropriate.

For what grades? or does this include colleges?

I personally see nothing wrong with it and provided that the person doing so does not begin preaching from it on campus.

Bring it so they can throw it in a firepit and chant around in a circle outside for recess? HELL yes.

Free Country. The kids are free to read the Bible and even pray on campus

No one is forbidden from bringing their Bible or reading it or praying. So the whole concept is just silly.

I'm an atheist living in the Bible Belt.
My family won't be participating...
I simply asked a question - and gave no opinion

I don't care one way or the other unless it's going to be a distraction.

I carried my Bible in school all of the time, to read when I had the chance, for our prayer meetings before school, etc. I don't see the big deal.

" National" as in who?

Did any sort of nation decide on this?

DS goes to a Lutheran school, so I obviously have no issue.
