Welp, here's what one "good guy with a gun" can do. WDYT?

HOUSTON -- One man is injured after a carjacking and shooting at a gas station in north Houston Saturday night.

Houston police responded to a shooting call around 11:15 p.m. Saturday at a Valero gas station on Jensen Drive at Reid Street in north Houston. Officials say two men jumped another man in the gas station parking lot and took the victim's Chevrolet pickup truck. Police say a witness then pulled out a gun and began shooting at the suspects, accidentally hitting the carjacking victim in the head.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital where he remains in stable condition. Police say the witness who shot at the suspects picked up shell casings and left the scene. Police found the stolen pickup truck about a mile down the road but are still searching for the suspects.

Every gun owner should be required to have gun training and put a certain number of hours in at the range a couple of times a year. Otherwise- your gun is obviously useless and dangerous.

That's a great idea. The hard part would be getting the gun training federally standardized.

MOst of us who have guns and things like concealed permits do spend a fair amount of time at the range. I spend between 1-4 hours a week and take various courses on the weekend. There are always going to be idiots in every situation.  This guy was an idiot. You never just shoot at people - unless you are in Chicago.  Then all bets are off.

Yes. You should be qualified. You never just shoot. This guy just shot blindly not knowing who the victim(s) was.

I think some gunowners are too eager to use their guns, to prove they ARE that "good guy".

This is why these gun-nut toting morons need to leave their guns at home.  They're an effing menace to society.

Oh, yeah, a "good guy" with a gun is such an improvement. Like the woman shooting at shoplifters in Michigan, too.

Nope, private citizens are not going to prevent crime by carrying their guns.
