I don't see an issue with it. My son is testing for his black so I've spent my share of time in the dojo. There are a LOT more cameras out in the early classes than the advanced belt classes lol. The karate school takes a picture of every kid on the day of their first class and displays it side by side with a picture when they get their black belt.

I am 40. When I start a new job my mom still takes a first day of work picture and adds it to the photo album with the first day of school pictures she has taken since 1980. It makes her happy so I do it. I figure it will be something I will look at when I am 90 and laugh.
