How would you respond to your mother saying this?

You have ppd to start off, and you are trying to breastfeed but despite your efforts you baby won't latch so you end up pumping for 3 months and switch to formula when you return to work as you are getting less and less pumping output. At which point your mom asks how breastfeeding is going and you tell her that you are formula feeding, her response is I knew you'd never be able to hack it. I knew you would give up. :'(

I would say "I knew you couldn't resist making a snarky and immature comment. Guess you just can't help yourself." Then I would walk away and ignore her for awhile.

I would be honest with her and tell her that her comments are not appreciated and they're hurtful.

You have that right, OP.

Any other mother than my own, I would have said Bite me. My own mother, I would not have told I was having any issues at all.

I would have walked away.  Don't feel guilty for giving up.  Your child will be just fine

I don't see her but once a month or less. Usually bdays and holidays. We usually get along fine. She breastfed all her kkids so I feel like I let her down. My other sister ff from the beginning so I guess she thought I'd follow in her footsteps. I begged her for advice with latching and she said that I had to figure it out for myself.
