Trolling can get you ARRESTED - just don't do it.

We live in an age where for some reason, people tend to post every little detail about their lives online. Some people think it's okay because they do it anonymously. Well, it doesn't take a genius to figure out that nothing is really anonymous. So if you want to troll, you should really consider the consequences of that post if it ever came back to you.

For example:

Trolling about getting high. Even if you live in a state where it's legal, it would REALLY suck if your child were seriously injured, or you get into a major car accident shortly after posting it. If you've never poked smot, you'll have nothing to worry about. But if you've gotten high anytime recently...you're fucked. Chances are the drug test wouldn't be done until after the info was found on your computer or phone, so you really have no way of proving your innocence. And even if your "internet trolling" defense can get you out of criminal charges, it's more than enough to prove your guilt in the event of a CPS investigation or a civil lawsuit.

And even if you really are drinking or getting high, JUST DON'T POST ABOUT IT. Because if something were to happen, and you really ARE guilty, your lawyer is going to have an extremely difficult time defending you.

The police, in general, do not care what goes on online.

As a moderator on another board, and was able to dig up a lot of info, they just don't have the resources to deal with it.

I'm not saying the police are browsing the internet looking to bust people for petty crimes. But if something happens and they open an investigation, your history can be pretty incriminating. Especially if they can directly tie it to what you're being investigated for.

If lying about getting high on a mommy board isn't trolling, then what is?
