At what age?

At what age do you leave your child alone for 2-5 minutes to do chores.

I leave my 18 month old alone up stairs while I run to the basement to bring the laundry up. Or stuff like that.

My husband says I shouldn't do this until he is 5.

How old do you do this?

Huh? From minute 1. I did not lug my newborn upstairs every time I needed to get the laundry basket. I just went.

I think ds was about 15 months when I started doing that.

I'd leave DS in the baby-proofed living room for a couple of minutes at a time when he was that age. I'd set him with with some toys and Pingu on Netflix. DS loved some Pingu!

Since he was born. How would I get anything done otherwise? As long as he's in a safe place, no big deal.

I do it now with my 2 week old. I put her in the bassinet and get stuff done.
