What the world was he thinking?!

My DD spent the weekend with her dad. I texted him yesterday evening to see what time he was bringing her home. His response? I want to keep her another night because we need her and the 13 year old SD (his SD) to watch the baby and my niece because the babysitter went out of town.
Ummmmm. Wtf? No. No. No. No way I am ok with that?! That is not the responsibility of the girls to watch the kids! He got upset that I drove to his house and picked up DD. But there was no way I could allow that to happen.

If he had said something, I could have helped them find a sitter. I still know people around where they live that would have watched the kids for them, not for free, but not an arm and a leg either.

Somehow I am the bad guy now.

What would yall have done if you were put in my shoes?

eta my DD is 11 and the kids are almost 2 and 4. Almost 2 has severe allergies that require an epi pen.

She's 11 and the kids are almost 2 and 3. The 2 year old has severe allergies that require an epic pen.

Depending on her age and if she wanted to, I would have let her babysit.

It sounds like you're overreacting a bit. What did your dd want to do?
