Do you believe

If you have a very realistic, very vivid dream of a deceased loved one, that they are trying to contact you, or let you know they are still around you in some way? Or do you think it is just your subconscious telling you that you are missing that person, even though its been years since their death?

I would think it was a dream and nothing more.

Just a dream, or nightmare depending.

Quoting CannotCount: I would think it was a dream and nothing more.

But what if in this dream, you had a very specific conversation regarding that persons death and in the dream you recognize that they are passed away, the dead person then says that they know they are dead, but needed to say some things.

This is obviously bothering me, just because it was so vivid, I could have sworn it was real

I don't know, but if you found comfort from it, you should hold onto that.

Funny you posted thist. Last night I placed a new music box in the curio cabinet next to my dad's ashes. At 3am I woke up to the sound of it playing. Coincidently, while growing up my dad would get home from work at 3am

i don't believe it's the subconscious mind.  I feel that our loved ones who have passed will visit us in our dreams, whether it's to give us reassurance or to help us in some way.  Many people I know have had loved ones visit them in dreams.  For some it was simply comforting.  For others those visits were helpful in specific ways.
