2 Bedrooms, 1 Bathroom - 1500 square feet - how much would this house cost in your area?

I just came across this article about how unaffordable housing is in my area.

An older house with 1500 square feet, two bedrooms and one bathroom costs about $400,00 in San Diego.

This is insane. (that's a link to the article)

How much would it cost me for a similar house in your area?

Less than half that in the burbs of Vegas but more in the highrises downtown.

Depends on the land, what is in the house, and where it is in town but on average, around 150K. I live in upstate NY.

Depending on the location of the neighborhood, 69,000 to 110,000

Depends on the land. Closest I can find is 2 bed 1 bath 1200 sq ft on 1 acre.. 58k.

But I'm in Kentucky. Not much more to say about that

Yikes. We are buying a 3 bed 2 bath 1300 sq ft. For 184k. My bil and his wife bought a similar size but a little older for 390k in San Diego 2 years ago.

Ours is a 2 bedroom/2 bath house with a little over 1400 sq. feet and it would sell for about $90,000 in NE Ohio.

That doesn't shock me.  California has always been expensive.

In my area a 1500 sq ft home will range in price depending on the area of town.  An older area that's not great will be about $80k, in a nice area it would be between $120-180k depending on how large the lot of land it's on.
