This year my daughters school is asking for toy donations to help low income families with Christmas. The thing is....the school won't be giving the toys to these families, but instead selling the toys to them at a reduced price. So basically this is a fundraiser for the school. I just find this incredibly tacky.

I agree that sounds a bit ridiculous.

Yes that is tacky. They shouldn't be making profit on toys donated to families in need.

Sad.

This sounds like something my kids school would do.  It is very tacky, and I probably wouldn't donate.

Yeah, that's dumb. I would rather give the toys to a charity that GIVES, not sells, them to families in need.

Selling the toys?!?  I've never heard of this, collecting donations to turn around and sell them to those in need.

I would rather donate toys to an organization that isn't out to make a profit off those who are having a difficult time, especially around Christmas.

Our schools always do a toy drive.  They do not turn around and sell the toys.
