I was just reading how when you give birth they will give your baby this hepatitis b shot and this eye cream? It said its mostly for women that have an STD or gonorea it said . I don't have stds, nor did i ever get hepatitis b shot.i dont want my baby getting shot up right after being born...for reasons. Do I have a say in this ? This is my first baby .. I'm not near labor at all ,i have a long way to go.but I'm new to all of it. Most likely giving birth in the hospital.

You do have a say. I opted to wait on the hep-b shot so he didn't get it. Easy peasy

Yes you can refuse unless you live in a state that doesn't allow for exemptions besides medical.

You can wait on the Hep B shot. You just have to sign a form.

Yes, you get a say. I feel bad for your kids though. I have people who know so much more than medical professionals. Go hug a tree, skip deodorant, and eat weeds, but for the love of Budda, vaccinate your kids.

Yes, just say no. Make sure it's noted when you are admitted.

My ds did not get the heb-b shot when he was born. Just tell them you don't want it and watch the paperwork they give you to make sure you don't accidentally sign for it.

I declined all for my daughter...  Tell them ahead of time, and then I had to sign waivers saying that I declined.

My reasons:

For the ointment: I don't have STD's and my daughter was born by C-section... there wasn't a risk.

I don't think my daughter needs Hep B yet... we do vaccinate... but she doesn't need it as a newborn. She's 3 now... we'll get it before she starts school.

Vit K- low risk for bleeding, wasn't preterm, she of coarse wouldn't be circ'd (wouldn't have is she was a he either)
