Impossible after 30!

Why is it so hard to lose weight after 30? Seems impossible.
I work out 3-5 times a week, I don't drink anything but unsweetened tea and water, and a rare glass of wine. I eat all real (unprocessed) foods and watch my sugar intake. I just want to cry!

I think it's just harder for some than others. I'm 35. I was pregnant at 34, and breastfeeding made me lose all my weight in 2 months, but who knows what will happen after I wean. I love to eat and love sweets.

3 moms liked this

Your metabolism and other bodily functions that pertain to weight and body don't work at the same capacity as when you were younger. You don't break things down as well, as fast, as effectively and likewise it takes more effort to see smaller changes than you'd like. It's just life, but based on your avatar pic you look cute as shit so why are you worried? :)

How much do you weigh and what your height? It could be you are already at a healthy weight,  and your body doesn't want to go lower aka unrealistic expectations, and to get the weight you want to be at you'll more or less have to starve yourself.

I'm lucky in that I'm over 40 and still lose eight fairly easily. Everyone is different though. This is new for you?

Until I was 28, I swear I could lose 5-10 lbs in a weekend lol. I always bounced back and forth between about 117 and 125. I'm just over 5'4. I slowly gained weight to around the 140's over a few years time. I'm 32 now, it took me a year to go from 145 down to 128. Maybe over a year... I have never worked that hard to lose weight in my life. It's like you pass a point of no return or something!

You could be building your muscle mass. Muscles weigh more that fat. Due to this you may look better even if you haven't lost much weight.

It's possible. It just takes way longer and more effort. Also depends on how long you've carried the extra weight on your body.
