Didnt ask her because she's a girl

My husband has a flight tonight and needed a ride to the airport. I can't do it, so he asked his brother and our 25 year old ds, who both couldn't do it. He then offered to pay our 19 year old nephew to do it. Well we have a 19 year old dd who is now very offended because he didn't ask her, but he asked her cousin who is the exact same age as her and she thinks it's because she's a girl. She claims he's being sexist. She feels she is more than capable of driving him and is angry because she doesn't think that we think so. Is it right for her to feel this way or is she making a big deal out of nothing?

What was the reason he didn't ask her?

He says he was worried about her getting lost

I'm curious as to why he didn't ask her too.

She might be right, I don't blame her for being offended.  Is it that he doesn't want her driving on the highway?  I know dads tend to be overprotective of their daughters, think they're babies no matter what age they are.  This may be the case.  Anytime I ever drove my dad anywhere, he'd keep his eyes shut the whole time, didn't matter how old I was.

He said he was worried about her getting lost especially getting out of the airport since she's never done it before

And? That could be a valid reason if he thinks she is a crappy driver or bad with directions.

I think she is right. The worst person to underestimate their daughter is the father. He should be empowering her and making her feel like she can do anything instead of making her feel inferior because she is a girl.
