Or has said this?

You have a perfectly healthy toddler yet the ped advises that the kid should never be around cats.

I'd ask why because some people are just old fashion in their way of thinking. My sisters ex mil used to send words of wisdom through my niece when I watched her and her baby brother after work. I got out earlier than the parents so I picked them up for a couple of hours and got to hear all of Grandma's wisdom including not letting the baby (almost toddler) near the cats because they would hurt him. He in turn yanked hard on one of the cats and they all avoided him lol. Just natural cat things and I didn't realize he would do that since they weren't that close when that happened.

I would have asked why?  Then I would say perfect, we are not cat people we are doggie people.
