I'm just starting to get into photography and wanted to shoot a couple weddings for my portfolio. I'd take pics the entire event and edit them within 24 hours. The catch--it's free. The cd of pictures that you can print, a small album put together of some of your wedding highlights and I'd only ask to use a couple photos (at my own expense) for my portfolio. I'm attaching a pic of the camera I ordered...

I'm also doing pics of family photos, births, new baby, anything that's not racy

I would need to see your work before I said yes.

No. I wouldn't risk an important event on an inexperienced faux photographer. Sorry, not gonna happen.

No. I had family take pics for me. It was nicer for us.

For free (because you do not something to show yet) I might. I would suggest taking pick of family and friends out and about, then make them up as you would do if they paid to show the clients that you know what your doing to start with at least.

As a photographer also starting out I honestly wouldn't start with weddings. Weddings are a very important day that can't be redone. Unless it's family or friends I would not do it. Brides might get the wrong idea then when the pictures didn't turn out the way they thought it would you have trouble. Start with family photos, newborns, pets, engagement ect first then work your way up from there.
