I'm from the Midwest and I know our accents (if Midwesterners even have one?) might not be great to everyone's ears, but southern accents really irk me. It just doesn't sound...smart. Idk. Especially really deep redneck accents.

Midwestern accents are very flat or so I've been told. I'm in Ohio but we get a weird twang in the southern half of the state.

I'd prefer a southern accent to a New York one

Bless your heart.

I'm from Indiana, but learned to talk when we lived in Mississippi, and I now live in Texas. My accent gets hilarious.

Well bless your heart. From a southerner. And yes. Midwesterners have a accent. It sounds equally stupid. How do I know? I moved to the Midwest. Ugh! And a accent doesn't make someone sound uneducated. Being uneducated makes them sound that way.

I don't mind a southern accent, but for some reason the Midwestern accent grates on me. I'm from Philadelphia, so I have very little room to complain about anyone else's accent...
