Teacher out of line - WWYD?

This popped up in my FB memories from March 2010. I had totally forgotten about it until I read it. So, here's an interesting wwyd.

Let's say one of your children's teachers "borrows" a book (hardcover) that is yours from your child by removing it from their desk and taking it home. The teacher did not ask anyone if it was okay first. The teacher tells you after the fact that they "borrowed" it. When you get the book back, you find that the teacher has written in your book. You are a person that would never write in your books. What would you do?

Ask them to replace it.

TELL them it's rude not to ask to borrow other people's property.

She would need to replace it. Teacher has no right to take what is not hers. I would have a serious problem with this.

I'd be asking them to buy a new copy and to please ask before "borrowing" items from the students because the next time they might not get off so easy.

I would hope she had a classroom rule that followed up with not touching someone else's belongings because I'd be rubbing that in her face. I'd be annoyed by her entitlement and ask that she'd replace it. Depending on how she reacted I may make mention of the situation to the principal afterwards.

Be pissed off, call her some childish names under my breath, bitch about it to all my friends and let it go, but still give her the stink eye every time I see her
