Dave and Busters.....appropriate for a 10 year old?

My DD turns 10 on the 24th. She saw a commercial for Dave and Busters a few days ago and since then has been stuck on wanting to go there for her birthday. I am off work that day, so I wanted to surprise her with going there.

I mentioned it to my biomom today and she flipped, saying that it was inappropriate to take a kid there, and it was meant for adults. She said I should take her to ChuckeCheese instead.

DD doesn't want to go to ChuckeCheese, and I have been to Dave and Busters before. There are a ton of games for kids and I think DD would have a blast.

What is your view on this? Is D and B too adult, or perfectly fine for a 10 year old? I will be with her and always by her side.

We take our kids often and have never had an issue.  I refuse to step foot in a CEC so we go to D&B. My girls are 7 and 10 BTW and have been going there for years.

Not at night. During the day is fine.

Totally disagree...I've seen plenty of kids there.

Take her during the day or early evening. Many franchises have times when kids are allowed. Just expect people to be served alcohol

As long as you don't go at night I think you're fine

Why do we need a repeat post on Dave and busters? We seriously can't find something more interesting to rehash?

I think it's fine. They have great party rooms in the newer ones which are for adult or kid birthday parties. If you go early enough in the day it's only kids there with parents...so how is it not appropriate? It doesn't become adult until after the dinner hour.
