Used Car Shopping

Sorry,  not such a hot topic. Dh and I are shopping for a used car. We only have $5-$9k to spend so we are looking at 2008-2010. We've seen some with low mileage. Apparently the honda lasts forever.

Just wondering if anyone has a honda civic or accord or a hyundai elantra.  Do you like it, good in snow? Any major issues? Thanks, I need some opinions!

I hate car shopping. I'm currently shopping for someone for my 86 year old grandmother.

She's so picky!

At her age, she just needs a simple car to get to and from errands. A cheap little car, or a nice car that she can hand me down to you!

We did tons of research when we bought our last car. Honda or Toyota have the best reliability. If you can find one with low mileage, it can last forever. I love my Camry because gas mileage is great and it's super reliable. I had a German luxury car before that was awesome but sooo expensive. You should be happy with Toyota or Honda.

It needs to be easy to get in and out of, and to haul around her various medical equipment.

It's deff going to be handed down to me.

I loved my Civic. I live in the desert, so I never drove it in the snow.

Honda's and Toyota are good. If you live in the snow I would recommend a Subaru. They are awd and hold their resale value pretty good

We have a 16 yr old subaru Ive had for 10 yrs. Im giving it to ds when he gets his license this summer. We have looked at them again, but dh is sick of dealing with oil leak issues that subarus have. I said every old car has some issue! I am peeking at foresters.

Im a little worried about not having all wheel drive if I get a honda, but dh thinks I will be fine.
