Dhs whole family has always home schooled since before it was widely accepted. They were talking about how it is unfair that they have to pay school taxes since they don't use the public school system at all. What do you think about homeschool parents having to pay school taxes?

Older people whose kids are grown and gone pay school taxes. People who have never and will never have kids pay school taxes. Younger people who haven't had kids yet pay school taxes.

They're not that special that they should be exempt.

I send my DD to private school and still pay school taxes. Everyone contributes to school taxes even if you don't have kids.

What dumb assessment. What about the elderly, singles, or child less couples that live in the district?

I think if they were exempt , tons of people would lie about home schooling.

Actually they mentioned that too, their thing is only people who send kids to public school should have to pay school taxes.

Doesn't everyone get taxed for public schools?

All homeowners do, I don't know about people who don't own though.

So basically make all schools private schools that charge tuition. What about the people who couldn't afford it? Their kids are just screwed and should grow up uneducated?

That's just how it is. People with no kids pay taxes. People with grown kids pay taxes. You don't get to pick and choose what it's for. How would that even work? Everybody gets to fill out a form for what they want to pay taxes for?' Who would pay the fucking taxes to administrate it? Also, everyone benefits from an educated population.

School taxes are paid by all home owners. It's not just to benefit your own children, but the community as a whole. Would you rather a living in a community of uneducated people?
