DH says this is a guy thing...

I have this problem with the way DH speaks to me. It's always in commands. "Give me the remote." "Put the crackers away." "Go buy milk." No would you or could you or please or thank you.

I do not speak to him this way. But if I did, and the few times I've done it for effect, he always makes a sarcastic comment about my rudeness.

I have talked to him about this. But it never changes.

The other day we were talking and I said that sometimes I find him sexist. Which I do. He asked why. I said that ONE reason is by the way he talks to me. Like he can boss me around. But he gets offended if I do it to him. Also in threat he speaks about female vs male roles in the home or work place, and in how he speaks about our kids based on gender. A few other things.

The point is DH says "that's ridiculous. Guys aren't all thinking if it's going to offend someone the way they talk. Guys just talk. They say what needs saying." He made a hand gesture like flapping his hands when he said "offend."

So so you agree? Is this a "guy thing?"

Common courtesy has nothing to do with gender.  Your husband is an ass.

Nope. It's a douchebag thing.

I would flat out ignore him when he gives orders. When he says something, tell him you're sorry, you can't hear him unless he uses his manners. It's just a woman thing.

I believe in male and female roles, but I am not sexist, and do not agree with disrespect or rude behavior like you are describing...he is being a thoughtless dick...

No it is not a guy thing. My husband would never talk to me like that he has manners. He says please and thank you when necessary

This it's a douch mannerless thing. Dh always says can/will you please _____. And thank you. As do every single one of my guy friends.
