I saw this on FB and honestly she's not wrong. We don't know her whole story and maybe she tried everything and didnt work. So this was her last resort.

Depends on what type of misbehaving? being physical, saying racial slurs, destroying property, ditching, drugs, etc, then this could be a last resort to show the kid what direction he could be going in.
If this is over talking back, not doing homework, etc then its too far.

Well, like you said, we don't know the whole story. I've seen this, shows like this, and I'm just wondering if it would have adverse affects. The fact is that often when kids get arrested for real they will become repeat offenders, basically they didn't learn their lesson. So how would this be any different?

When my child is disobedient, I ask her do you want to be the police officer or the criminal?

I don't like punishments that instill fear or humiliation.

Hard to say without knowing the family. I'm a "do what works" kind of person but that's severe.

Also, it's hard to think when I'm cringing over the "rite" part.

Seems extreme but I don't have the whole story. Not a fan of it being posted in FB either.

I would need more information before I said one way or the other.

I would also like to add, would this make kids fear cops? I would think this would psychological put the kids on the opposite side and see cops as the enemy.
