Do any African americans(I hate saying black) but black people go to your church?

DH and I haven't been married long and we only go to the church he grew up in when someone in the family invites us for a baptism or blessing other then that DH works way to much so even before marrying me he's died down on his religion and I just don't have one because well I wasn't raised in a religion and I have my own views on it all.

So anyway he says there has never been a black person in his church ever, so I said well there has to be black Mormons somewhere right? He thinks there's not for whatever reason lol.

Black Mormons do exist but it's definitely not on the scale as white Mormons, especially here in the US.

I know a black Mormon in Florida. I don't know any black people of any religion in Utah (where I grew up).

Wait. That's not true. My 7th grade math teacher was black, but I don't know what religion she was.

I don't think the Church allowed black men the priesthood until the 1970's. That's probably why there aren't many black Mormons.

Why do you hate saying "black"?

I know quite a few, yes, even here in Utah. There's 2 families in the ward I'm supposed to attend. There's at least 6 families total in the neighborhood. Outside my neighborhood I know several others.
