To Those Who Have Had Their Tubes Tied

What was the procedure like?

How did they do it?

Was recovery hard?

Any complications?

I was thinking about having it done. I'm 31 with one bio child and 2 stepkids. I don't want more. My doctor is willing to do it.

I had mine done after a c section so I noticed no recovery issues. I had my tubes entirely removed. No complications, period is a bit heavier.

I had it done during my c-section so for me, it was no different.

My recovery time was no longer than usual and no complications.

My periods are really heavy now but other than that I've had no problems.

It was easy, little to no discomfort.

Would strongly discourage it until you are older. You are too young.

I had it done 6 weeks after having my daughter 23 years ago. Recovery for me was fine. It's damn near like I hadn't had it done. I was up the next day as usual. They just told me to take it easy, nothing strenuous.

I had mine done at 29 during my second c section. Recovery was the same as my first c section. No issues at all since.

procedure was easy.  I had 3 stitches in my belly button when it was over and was out the hospital by lunch time.  Recovery was easy as anything.  They didn't even send me home with painkillers and I didn't need them.  I was just required to not participate in sparring for a few weeks.  No complications.

I had each tube cut burned & clipped in 3 places each.  Serious doctor is serious.

Here's a bump. I had Essure instead.

The thought of having another baby makes me want to jump off a cliff.

Plus, my son will be able to be left home alone in a couple years. I won't have to worry about babysitters anymore and I love that. I don't want the baby waking up in the middle of the night, diaper changes, feedings, etc all over again. We can't really afford another right now without upgrading our car, etc either.
