I'm 48 years old and pregnant, I'm due in two weeks. I had an OB appointment this morning. The doctor was in a delivery, so I had a bit of a wait and started chatting with another patient. We started talking about our older kids, and my older child is 28. The woman couldn't believe I was really 48. Apparently after you hit 45 you cease being able to get pregnant.

It isn't impossible but it is a lot harder and most need IVF therapy.

I already knew you could, my grandma was in her late 40s when my dad was conceived. Happy 50th birthday to my grandpa.

Not all. It's not as easy as in your 20's, but it's also no longer as uncommon as it was.

I'm glad you're happy. When I am 48 all my kids will be in college and I won't be raising a baby. That makes me very happy.
