Poor form or not?

Every Friday a speech teacher comes to our house to help our child with speech. Our appointments are at 10:15.

She never showed up today. Puzzled, I went and checked voicemail. There was one from her saying that one of her other morning appointments had cancelled and she was wondering if it would be possible to reschedule for earlier in the morning.

Our phone sometimes doesn't ring, just goes straight to voicemail. I have no idea why, but of course I didn't get the message until after our regular appointment time.

But she apparently decided that since I never got back to her she could just skip our regular appointment time.

I think that's rude.

Agreed. If she didn't get a response she should have came at regular time when you were expecting her.

It's not, but it's 40 minutes of my time wasted waiting for her.

Seeing as she hadn't heard from you, she should have kept the regular appointment time.

I agree I think she should have shown at the regular time.

Agreed. I never said it was the end of the world.

Exactly what would you have used that time for?
My biggest concern would be a phone that didn't ring, and if I had a phone that didn't ring I would routinely check for voicemails.

This.

It's rude and annoying but it was only 40 minutes. Move on
