An actual confession

I'm happy that my DF broke his ankle which made him ineligible for the Army.

He was on his way to Basic, two days away actually. He and our mutual best friend played a game of basketball and *snap* his ankle broke.

If it weren't for that... My child wouldn't be here and we wouldn't be.

Maybe not "happy" but definitely not sad lol. He knows and he agrees.

So that's my confession.

In case its confusing, this was over 4 years ago. Not recent.

Well that's not a horrible confession! Something bad helped something awesome happen!

Once it heals he can reapply. Having a broken ankle isn't a reason that will keep you out of the military.

One of the men in my unit had the same thing happen to him.  They simply gave him a later date in which to report.

A broken ankle or bone does not make someone ineligible for military service. It's a temporary disqualification meaning they would postpone his recruitment and departure for bootcamp and basic. During this postponement since any official contracts are not signed he still has the option to refrain from service which at the time of the break he still had the option to do as does anyone joining. Until they have been processed in AT basic they can change their mind. So your confession is that your man has no balls one way or the other and relied on a broken ankle to save his ass from making any real decisions.
