Is 2 1/2 too young? X Posted

My in-laws want to come get my 2 year old and take him back to Massachussetts where they live (we live in Mississippi) for 2 weeks.  I kind of feel like that is too long to be away from his mom at that young of an age.  They want to see him but my FIL can't take 2 weeks off (my MIL doesn't work, so she'd be home with him) and my husband can't take time off either.  The longest he's been away from me was 6 weeks when I was in the military and it took him a whole day to talk to me when I got back.  Is 2 weeks too long for a 2 year old to go visit family?  I really think it is, DH says it's not.  Thoughts?

I'd let him go. No way would dh though. He's too attached to our son to be away for him that long. Not that I'm not, I'm just not as sucky as him I guess

I do trust my in-laws, I'm worried more about him missing me and not understanding where I'm at.

I've let MIL take ODD for 2 weeks at a time when she was 1. It gave them good bonding time.

I wouldn't let my son go. But to be fair he's almost 6 and the longest I've been away from him in one shot is 3 days and I was only 60 or so miles away.

3 or older I would probably be okay with.
