My electricity was shut down because of 1 dollar debt. You read right! Apparently if you have a left over bill when the new one comes they can shut your power off, even if it is $1. I already paid but I am still waiting for the power to be put up. Anyway, can I do this. I only have a gas BBQ and I am already using the only stove for the rice. Help!

Depends on how hot the heat is, is it like stainless steel everywhere no teflon?

That's not something I would try.

If you already paid it they should be turning your power on immediately.. I would be pissed.

If you don't put the lid of the grill down and watch the pot, it should be no different from putting it on a gas stove.  Are the handles plastic or metal (the pot)?  I'd keep the heat on medium or lower, too.

If it's a good thick pot yes. I have ones with nice heavy bottom and I've used them on the campfire before no problem.
