He makes me so sad sometimes.

My DH asked me if our son and I would come lay in the bedroom with him for a while before he went to his buddy's birthday party.

I said sure.

He said he was going to the bathroom first.

I said just tell me when you're done.

Well a 1/2 hour later he comes to the living room extremely mad because apparently he waited all that time for us.

I said "you never let us know you were ready."

He said "you couldn't come look for me in a half hour?"

Now, DH spends A LOT of time in the bathroom. Especially lately. A LOT 3-5 40 minute sessions a day. He has been in there for at least 15 minutes over 8 times today. Yes, that's more than two hours.

So how the hell was I supposed to know he was out of the bathroom without him telling me? Why would it even dawn on me to go check? His habit is excessive bathroom use. I was washing dishes and doing other chores.

He left angry. Wouldn't say goodbye or tell me when he'd be in.

Now I'm down.

Maybe things will get better once he's through puberty.

I wouldn't be upset.

Remind him he can help with the dishes and the chores instead of complaining or primping in the bathroom.

He might just be picking a fight so he has an excuse to stay out later.

Does he have some medical issue that causes the excessive use? Or the juvenile behavior?
