Help me understand this

I was omw to taking my three year old to his doctor appointment and I see the neighbor kid walking down the street. Actually he graduated high school last year. I asked if he needed a ride and he said his scooter broke down and worked at so and so. The place is about five miles away and not too much out of my way, so I took him. I told him if he needed a ride tomorrow I could take him when I take my dh.
I get home and my neighbor is literally waiting for me on her porch. She tells me she got a call from someone telling her, I was seen giving her kid a ride. I told her I saw him walking and offered. She tells me her son is too young for me and I need to leave him alone.
What the hell did I do wrong?

I want to know who called her. You'd think she would be happy her kid didn't have to cross the bridge that doesn't have a walk way.

What is to understand?  Mom has issues.  She's probably like a lot of the moms on here that think that an act of kindness is flirting and that all grown ups are sexual predators looking for kids to molest.

The mom thinks she's trying to hook up with the son, I think.

This is why I keep to myself. People are fucking nuts and make something out of nothing! He's probably an adult. She needs to chill out.

It makes me feel physically oll that she would think that about me.
