Dd didn't tell us her bf was divorced...I'm upset

Dd is 26. Her boyfriend is 32. They've been dating a year and it seems like it's getting more serious.

We like him a lot. He's a lawyer with a good job, treats her very well and they get along great. However just after a year dd told me he's divorced.

The backstory? He grew up very religious and felt pressure to marry his high school girlfriend after a year of dating when he was 21 because it's just what both their families and their community did apparently. After 2 years they got divorced. He's no longer religious and his parents accepted that.

Dd mentioned it casually in passing like "John and his exwife". She's known since the beginning and said she never brought it up because "it never came up".

Idk how to feel about this :(

Everyone makes mistakes, accept him for the way he takes care of your daughter...nobody is perfect..at least he was honest.

Is he good to your daughter?

She never brought it up because it doesn't matter to her. It shouldn't matter to you. You are the one in the relationship

So damn what, get over yourself it's not the 1950s where divorce was this scandalous. Shameful thing.

If she knew about it and seems to be okay with it, I wouldn't worry about it.

What does it matter? If your DD s ok with it, who cares? Shes in the relationship with him, not you.

As long as he doesn't pay her alimony and they don't have kids together, who cares? I would only throw a fit if he had kids with the ex.
