Do I have a right to be mad?

My dh is getting his first pay this week and plans on buying one of those hover things that just came out last year. I don't want him to buy that. I would prefer he save the money. How would you feel?

His first pay in how long? How have you been paying the bills? When was the last time he "treated" himself?

First paycheck ever? Do you have bills that need to be paid or is this just fun money for you guys?

That would make a difference in how I respond.

I think that you should be able to talk about your finances without getting angry. Are all the bills paid? Money in savings? It is okay to treat yourself occasionally. That being said, those hover-boards have been known to catch fire.

How I feel would depend on the financial situation..

How old are you?
Is this his first paycheck ever?
Do you have bills that need to be paid?
Are the two of you supporting yourselves?
Has he read all the reviews about all the dangers of those hoverboards?
