Threw an entire plate of fried rice on the floor of a restaurant? Child is probably 4 or 5.

Make them clean most of it up and apologize to the people who have to clean up after him.

I would be so embarrassed. I would get down on my hands and knees and clean up as much of it as possible. If the kid wasn't in a melt down, the kid would be helping and would be apologizing to our waiter. Our meal would be boxed to go and we would leave ASAP. I would tip 25%. The child would have consequences at home.

Taken him out immediately. End of meal for him and let everyone else finish their meal in peace.

Smack his ass in the middle of the restaurant. He would know better.

I'm guessing it wasn't an accident?

After we went outside and had a few words, he'd be cleaning up every single grain then apologizing to the staff and patrons.

I can't even imagine that happening with my children.

Who would clean the rest of it after your DH "tried" to clean some up?

It definitely wasn't an accident. He pushed the plate to the edge. His dad told him not to do it and he did it and laughed.

I would remove my child from the restaurant after cleaning the mess up. I would find out why my child did that since it would have been so out of the bounds of her normal behaviour and then help her learn coping skills to deal with it.
