Cruise or a car?

My dd is graduating college next year so we want to go ahead and plan for the gift lol

When she left home for college we sold her car. She goes to college in a big city and driving isn't really necessary.

But we were thinking about buying her a brand new(not a sports car but something reliable) car once she graduates.

That OR a cruise. Dh and I have been on 3 cruises since the kids left home but they've never been on One and I know she would LOVE it.

Which one?

A car..

That's way more expensive than even the best cruise.

1 mom liked this

Car is more practical if she plans on leaving the city. Maybe ask her what her plans are after graduation.

Definitely a car. It's something she will most likely need when starting her career, and a major expense that she won't have to deal with. She will be thankful to not have car debt when she starts out!

If you want to be practical I would say a car..... It would give her a good start so she doesn't have to have a car payment just starting out.

However, a cruise would be just fun lol.......

Could there be a 3rd option of maybe a cheaper used car and a cruise?

I'd personally rather have a car.

I've lived in areas where cars weren't necessary, but they definitely still made life easier. Unless it's NYC, I'd say a car would be useful.

Reliable used car AND a cruise.
I'm always a believer in experiences over thingss but will she need a car after graduation?
Also - does she want to go on a cruise? Will it be a family trip? Will she have time ?
You are cool parents btw 😀

Unless she is planning on doing slot of traveling after graduation or living in NYC then I would choose car.

Hands down a car.  A cruise is a week and then it isn't useful.

I would say a nice used car AND a 3-4 day cruise!
