How many of you actually know a transsexual or transgender?

My son's long time friend came out last year as transgender. He's in his mid 20s and is one of the most polite and sweetest person I've meet.

Some of his co-worker have been unkind to him due to his change. I find it absolutely sickening because he is such a sweet person! I would have no issues going to the same bathroom as her and treating her like a human being that deserves respect!

Several. My husband is involved in gay rights plus there is a cashier at our local Target and one at my usual grocery store who are trans.

I have a friend who is gender fluid. She is a lesbian and looks very masculine and would be happy if there was no such thing as gender. She's a great person- super smart.

Yes. One is dh's friend's sister. Another is a guy I met at school.

I'm the VP of my schools gay-straight alliance so a few of our members are trans as well.

That is great! I imagine where I live it would be lonely to be trans. Not many around here.
