Age in months...

This is so silly but it drives me crazy. It drives me nuts when parents talk about their child being 12 months, 24 months, 36 months... Damn it. Your baby is a year old, 2 years old, etc... Stop counting months! Lol

I think it's ok until 2 years old. 20mos is ok, 22 mos is too, 23mos is pushing it.

2 moms liked this

Well I am 350 months old....  I refer to months until they turn 2. There are huge developmental changes every single month until 2. There is a huge difference between a child who is 14 months and one who is 22 months- yet technically they are both still 1.

I'm saying 23 months right now because it's easier than saying 2 next week. After next week he will be 2. Lol

The month thing is used until the age of 2 (24 months) because there are specific developmental milestones that babies are supposed to hit at or around certain months. Babies do a lot of growing in the first 2 years of life.  I usually still use 1 year and 2 year for 12 months and 24 months. But if my kid is 6 months that's what I'll say. There is a big difference between a 3 month old and a 6 month old developmentally. It can get annoying and confusing...even for the parent.
