My sister's DD told her that this morning. She said that she was the most vile person she has ever met and she couldnt standing living with her for another second

She wants to be able to spend mothers day with her "real mom"

She is 16 but they live in canada so she can move out if she wants. My sister is heart broken. I dont blame her.

SM is not very stable, she cheated on my ex BIL, was on drugs, and  got arrested. When SM and my ex BIL got divorced my  sister kept DD away from actually living with her. My neice obviously resents her for it. I feel for my sister I cant think of a worse "present"

To be clear SD likes SM because she thinks she is cool. She is only about 5 years older than her. She thinks its fun to go out and party. She isnt really a parent at all

If your sister is the most vile person and her daughter actually thinks that, chances are there is much much more to this story.

Sounds like your sister is reaping what she sowed.

They have had a very strained relationship since the divorce. SD has wanted to live with SM but BM said no because of all her issues. SD doesnt see the issue with drugs or getting arrested she just says that people make mistakes.

Would you have honestly let your kids live with their SM who was on drugs and got arrested for it?

SD sounds like a selfish brat unaware of the reality that living with a drug addicted loser wasn't in her best interest.

Clearly the SM isn't that bad.

How so? Because SD likes her?

SM was always more of a friend to her. She is only about 5 years older than SD. She thinks she is cool

I can't help but think there's a whole lot more to the story of this girl's relationship with her mother.
