It is petty and stupid that I care

So I'm posting it here and saying nothing IRL.

My kids Dad spoiled the Hell out of his new gf for Mother's Day - jewelry, breakfast in bed from him and her kids, cards, flowers. The works.

I am the mother of his children - who are too young to do anything for me on their own - and he has done nothing to aknowledge the actual mother of his children. Yea it makes me kind of sad.

You're not together. I don't expect my dad to acknowledge my mom. They aren't together.

I think your feelings are perfectly normal and valid. I'd feel left out too. Especially because your babies are too little to do anything. It would've been nice to be recognized, huh? It doesn't make you any less of a mommy though. Go enjoy the day with your little ones. Make it a special day for yourself! Happy mothers day *hugs*

You are not his mother or his spouse. You shouldn't expect anything from him.

I'm sorry you're sad.  Unfortunately that's just how it is now.  You guys are no longer together so you shouldn't expect things from him like that anymore or it will continue to hurt your heart.

Try to make your day great, Happy Mother's Day

And? If I wasn't with my husband and he was with someone there isn't a snowballs chance in hell is get him something for Father's Day. That's for your kids or man to do.

Um you are not together, why would he buy you jewelry or flowers or make you breakfast in bed. Now he can tel you happy mother's day but other than that, there is no reason for him to go all out on you.

Totally understandable, but now it's up to you to make yourself feel special.

Look at it this way - you KNOW you will get yourself what you want!
