Do you feel like your self worth depends on

If you have a man or not? "Because people believe a woman's validation is tied to a man. It's like them saying, be happy you have one, cause you could be single and alone (which is the worst thing ever cause clearly it means no one likes or wants you). A lot of people use "not having a man" to almost shame women." I saw this on a thread on Facebook and it made me want to see different perspectives. I copied this and pasted it here because she worded it better than I could.

Hell no. I'm perfectly happy single. I love being married but being single is fantastic.

Sometimes it's my fantasy to be totally alone.

I was happy single. Absolutely not and I pity anyone that needs someone else their lives romantically in order to be happy

My self worth comes from me, and my accomplishments. Not because I have a husband.

I prefer not being single but having an SO has nothing to do with my self worth.

I think it's natural to want companionship, most people want that closeness so it is hard to understand how someone could be happy without it.

I was perfectly happy being single when I met DH.

I don't think anyone's self worth or someone's opinion of it should depend on how one chooses to live their life. Whether one lives alone or with someone, man or woman, as a partner is just a choice they make for the moment or day or longer.

No. I prefer singlehood.

I've been on my own for almost 2 years.
It's lonely at times but it doesn't affect my self worth.
I am who I am alone or with someone.
