I think professor Swift needs to go piss up a rope. And stop with the navelgazing nonsense and read to his kids more.

Well, I was beaten as a child.

Should all parents start beating their children to make up for my disadvantage?

That has to be a joke. Satire, like the Onion, maybe? Hopefully?

He's a legit philosopher- just a bit odd. He doesn't recommend against doing it, just making an effort to reflect on the subject from that view, and to seek to actively change it.

Not a bad thought, but placing guilt where it shouldn't be.

At some point you've got to leave and trust the parenting of other kiddos to their parents and just strive to do the best you can with yours. The playing field won't ever always be equal, but simply doing your hardest to raise kind and productive members of society by any means you have is all you can do and be expected to do, truly. And you definitely shouldn't feel guilty giving your children advantages if and when you can.

Scary isn't it? I missed a lot of meals because my dad would rather put money in savings than feed his kids. Guess we can't feed them either.
I can imagine what he would say about homeschooling.

Yikes! I wasn't sure if it was legit or not. I was hoping not.
