SD doesn't want to stay for her full visit...

My sd is on a schedule where it is 50/50 between homes. It is a 3/4 4/3 schedule. However over the summer each parent gets two full uninterrupted weeks with the kids.

This year sd told DH and I she doesn't want to do that. She said she knows that both families like to take a vacation but the two weeks is just really hard on her. She said she always misses the other family while she is away. Especially her younger siblings. Because she is used to only going 4 days at most without them.

She asked DH and I if we could split it up this year. Do maybe a week with us then a week with mom the the beginning of the summer and then the same at the end.

I have no problem with this, nor does DH.

Sd says that she is nervous to talk to her mom about it though so we will be doing that tonight at pickup, which is at 6.

Edit:

BM said no. She told us if this was coming from sd sd would have told her herself. So it wasn't even a discussion.

If everyone is in agreement good, if BM disagrees then she's going to have to do the CO visitation.

Yes I know that. I would understand if BM is against it but I also know how hard it is on ME personally to have her gone for two whole weeks. So I totally understand SD's side.

Thanks. She will be a hard sell. But I understand why SD wants it.
