What a day first happy ,then a shooter in front of our church then graduation..

Yesterday our youngest graduated from high school. First we went to the casual service at our church .We have our own sanctuary across the street in a large strip center the church bought. It is 3/4 church oriented now. Shortly after we got there we heard shots. Our church locked down ,pushed us all into rooms without windows and played the music louder to drown out the shots. He killed a man that attended my sister's church. He wounded 6 others. Several are out of the hospital but one is very seriously injured.

It was so terrifying. Our youngest was not with us because they had to report to graduation 90 minutes before we did so he went with friends. My family was with me including my 8 month old grandson. My oldest  poor son and d-i-l were about to have a nervous breakdown once it was over.My other two were shook a lot also.My son and d-i-l were so calm during it all but then started shaking .My mother ,sister ,bff were calling and texting us  .I was worried my mother would have a heart attack on the phone .

After the shooter was killed we were escorted to our cars.We drove a bit then just stopped .I had a full suburban. My husband was nervous also .My sweet ,sweet b-i-l  meets us with my sister and mom.He hopped in my car to drive us to graduation.

My son and friends didn't realize what had happened .The school takes up phones so kids aren't staring at them all of graduation...it was a REALLY great thing for them not to have phones. After we meet up ,we go out to a steak house for dinner to celebrate.

It just seems surreal ....normal ,shootings ,then back to normal.Though I had several martinis at dinner ,fortunately dinner took forever !

Still  odd feeling.Maybe writing about it here will help shake it .

I'm glad your family is all ok. That had to be terrifying. I think I would have had a few drink to calm my nerves, too.

It must be your phone. I'm mobile and could read it just fine.
