No but in the bay area they charge for bags. Only paper they banned plastic. I always forget when I go there too.

You get it back when you return your cart. Have you noticed how low their prices are? One reason is that they don't have to pay enough employees to have someone available to round up all the carts in the parking lot 50 times a day. Another is that they don't pay for bags. Did you know you have to bring your own bags, too? And bag your groceries?

At Aldi it's a quarter to get a cart and then you get the quarter back when you return the cart. We don't shop there often but Mil does and I've gone a few times with her.

No other grocery store here does that. At least none that I am aware of.
