Would you do this?

If you had an 18 year old who had to go to another town 20 minutes away for work and was going to be there until 11pm (she usually works in your town but this was a one off inventory thing), would you "allow" her to drive there and back or insist on taking her and picking her up?

A coworker did this with his daughter. I thought it was way over protective.

Depends on the 18 year old and the area.

18 is an adult capable of getting themselves to and from work.

Safe area but she would have had to drive the interstate or back roads. He didn't like her being on the interstate.

She's an adult why would she need permission? Unless it's the parents car or something.

Yeah it sounds a bit much, unless there is a good reason for not wanting her to drive there.

They gave her the moms old car: I'm not sure whose name it is in.

He's a little over protective, especially of his daughter.

I would let my 18 year old drive themselves. It is silly to drive them when they're capable on doing it them self.

Depends on the 18 and area for me. My oldest is 10 and I can all ready kinda tell she is trust worthy she's very honest even if she knows she's gonna get in trouble and she is responsible. I would allow her to go of course she would have to have contact with me. But my youngest is a bit more sneaky lol. Children have to learn how to be responsible and do things for them selfs at a certain age 18 is old enough.
