Questions about IUD replacement: it felt like labor pain

I had an IUD replaced today. It was horrible. There were two doctors in the room. The first doctor found my cervix but could not "sound" it right so the IUD could be placed. It went from pressure to feeling like I was having labor pains. The second doctor had the same issue. So they took the forceps out, let me take a breather and then went for round 2. Same issue even with the forceps in a bit deeper and angled. They were going to have me come back to try again but I told them to give to one more shot. I made it passed the labor like pains and they finally got things where they needed them and the IUD went in.

I still hurt. It feels like I'm a bit swollen down there. It was a horrible experience. I'm bleeding and almost feel like I did after I gave birth. It hurt like hell.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I had Para-Guard put in 3 years ago. It hurt but was nothing like labor pain. Since it's good for 10 years by the time it expires & needs to be removed I'll be in menopause. Sorry you had such a bad experience :(
